Doping Scandal

On February 27, before the start of the men's 15 km race, Austrian police detained 9 people, including 5 skiers, at the request of the Munich Prosecutor's Office and the Innsbruck Prosecutor's Office [2] . The next day the names of those suspected of manipulating blood were made public: these are Kazakhstani Alexei Poltoranin , the Austrians Max Hauke and , as well as the Estonians Andreas Veerpalu and Karel Tammjärv . In accordance with Austrian legislation, athletes face up to three years in prison, but it is likely that cases against suspects will be referred to law enforcement agencies of their home countries [3] .

Venue Selection

The city was chosen as the venue for the world championship at the FIS Congress on June 1-6, 2014 in Barcelona . Together with him Oberstdorf (Germany), Planica (Slovenia) and Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan) claimed to hold the tournament [4] . Congress decided that the Austrian Seefeld will host the World Cup.
