At the conference of the labor collective of the Novocherkassk plant of synthetic products on March 10, 1999, it was decided to reconstruct the unfinished civil defense building on the near-plant territory into the church of the Russian Orthodox Church with its location in the basement of the radiation cover. On June 3 of the same year, the Board of Trustees was established, and the priest Yevgeny V. Mashtanov was appointed to oversee the construction of the temple. On June 24, 1999, with the blessing of the Archbishop of Rostov and Novocherkassk Panteleimon , a memorial stone was laid. According to the design of the chief architect Boris Raichenkov [3], the temple was created by a five-domed, thirty-meter bell tower above its northern antechamber.
Already during construction, from the beginning of 2000, when the room became suitable for this, prayers began to be performed in the church. On January 11, 2001, the cross and the dome of the bell tower were consecrated, which was made by the archpriest of Novocherkassk district, Archpriest Oleg Dobrinsky. On April 10 of the same year, the bell was consecrated and placed on the bell tower, and on April 17 the first Easter prayer was held. The consecration of the five domes was held on August 21, 2001 by the Archbishop of Rostov and Novocherkassk Panteleimon. Priest Georgy Zhilin was appointed the first rector of the church on October 10, 2001. On the eve of the Easter service in 2002, an iconostasis made of cast stone with hand-painted icons was installed in the church. [2] There are seven bells on the bell tower of the temple. [four]
In 2015, the church still carried out painting work. There is a Sunday school, an Orthodox youth club, clubs for needlework and church singing, a library is working. The spiritual nourishment of the hospital of the Russian army of military unit 42303 was secured for the arrival of the church of Sergius of Radonezh .
