The Belarusian Embassy Club (BOD) is a Belarusian fraction in the Sejm of the inter-war Polish Republic in 1922 - 1927 and 1928 - 1930 .

History

First Embassy Belarusian Club

The Belarusian Embassy Club was established in November 1922 . The office of the BOD was located in a building located in Vilna (now Daukshos Street 13).

Initially, the club consisted of 11 deputies (ambassadors) and 3 senators.

  • Kalinovsky Vladimir (later replaced by Voloshin Pavel );

The club defended the social and national rights of the Belarusian population in Poland . The Belarusian embassy club initially took a loyal position with respect to the Polish government. However, in mid- 1923 he joined the opposition, interacted with the Polish left and centrist parties.

The Belarusian Ambassadors Club was opposed by the Provisional Belarusian Council (VBR), which collaborated with the Polish authorities. The Provisional Belarusian Council was formed after the split of the Belarusian Civil Assembly (BSA), which occurred on September 21, 1924. The famous Belarusian military leader Hasan Konopatsky was the deputy chairman of the Provisional Belarusian Council.

On June 24, 1925 , a split occurred in the BOD itself. Ambassadors Bronislav Tarashkevich , Simon Rak-Mikhailovsky , Pavel Voloshin and Pyotr Metla created a separate club of the Belarusian peasant-working community .

The remaining BOD deputies adhered to opposition views regarding the policy of the Polish authorities, were hostile to representatives of the embassy club of the Belarusian peasant and working community .

Second Belarusian Ambassadors Club

In March 1928, new elections were held in the Sejm . The Belarusian embassy club was re-created in the new composition. It included 4 deputies and 2 senators.

The Belarusian embassy club was an ideological opponent in the Sejm of the Belarusian faction of deputies under the name “Struggle” (“ Zmaganne ”).
