Biography

The son of a priest.

He studied at the Tver gymnasium , after graduating from which he entered the natural department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of St. Petersburg University , where he studied for three years [1] . He moved to the 2nd year of the Military Medical Academy , which he graduated in 1886. During his studies, he worked in the clinic of skin diseases of Professor A. G. Polotebnov , where he became interested in dermatology.

In 1887, he began serving as a junior doctor in the Uyazdovsky Military Hospital ( Warsaw ). In 1888-1893 he worked in the clinic of skin diseases at the Military Medical Academy and in the Kiev dermatological clinic of M. I. Stukovenkova . At the University of Kiev he defended his thesis "On the issue of syphilitic and mercury chloroanemia" (Kiev: type. Imp. University of St. Vladimir V. Zavadsky, 1892. - 316 p., 20 l. Color diag.) For the degree of doctor of medicine .

In May 1894 he was appointed privat-docent of the Military Medical Academy in the Department of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and at the same time as privat-docent in syphilology at Kiev University. He worked at the Kiev Dermatological Clinic (1894-1897).

In 1897 he moved to Kharkov: extraordinary (1897), ordinary (1901) professor of skin and venereal diseases of Kharkov University .

In 1911 he moved to the Department of Dermatology at Moscow University , which he headed until 1916; extraordinary (since August 1911), ordinary (since December 1911) professor. He was also the director of the clinic of skin and sexually transmitted diseases at the university.

He founded the Kharkov Dermatological and Venereological Society (since 1900). Editor-publisher of the Russian Journal of Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (since 1901), which he founded.

Died of asthma.

Some of the works also appeared in German in the Monatsberichte für Urologie, Dermatologische Zeitschrift and the Monatshefte für praktische Dermatologie, etc.
