Islyam Baukenovich Baukenov ( October 10, 1915 , aul Alybay - October 10, 1981 ) - Chairman of the Luch Lenin agricultural cartel in the Petropavlovsk district of the North Kazakhstan region, Kazakh SSR. Hero of Socialist Labor (1957). Member of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of the 3rd, 4th and 5th convocations.

Biography
Born in 1915 in the village of Alybai. He graduated from the seven-year school and the Peter and Paul School of the Federal Law, after which he worked as an accountant-cashier on the May 1 collective farm of Mamlyutsky district. At the age of 20 he was elected chairman of the collective farm "May 1". From 1937 to 1939 he served in the Red Army. After the army, he continued to chair the collective farm. In July 1941 he was drafted into the army. He served in the Far East. In March 1942 he joined the CPSU (b). In August 1945, he participated in battles against Japan as part of the 78th separate machine gun battalion. In 1946, he was discharged and returned to Kazakhstan, where he continued to head the collective farm “May 1”. Then he was the chairman of the district plan in the Peter and Paul District Council.
After the unification of the three collective farms “Ray of Lenin”, “Red Mayak”, and “May 1” of the Arkhangelsk Village Council in 1950, he was elected chairman of the collective farm “Ray of Lenin” of the Petropavlovsk District.
After the reorganization, the Lenin Luch collective farm received 15 thousand hectares of arable land. In 1951, 700 hectares of virgin land were plowed and in 1953-1955 - 3,795 hectares. In 1956, the “Lenin Luch” collective farm handed over 350 thousand poods of grain to the state.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 11, 1957, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal “ Hammer and Sickle ” [1] for particularly outstanding successes achieved in the development of virgin and fallow lands and for obtaining a high harvest.
He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of the 3rd, 4th and 5th convocations.
Since 1963, he lived in the village of Penkovo, where he worked as the manager of a branch of the Berezovsky farm.
He retired in 1975.
Died in 1981.
