Amateur career
In 2006 in Cartagena ( Colombia ) became the bronze medalist of the Games of Central America and the Caribbean .
In 2008, he represented the Puerto Rico national team at the Olympic Games in Beijing ( China ), speaking in the category up to 81 kg . In the first round of the competition, Iranian Mehdi Gorbani won with a score of 13/4. In the second round, with a score of 3/9, he lost to Kazakhstani Yerkebulan Shynaliev - who eventually won the Olympic Games bronze [1] .
Professional career
He made his debut in the professional ring on March 28, 2009, having won by knockout in the 1st round over his compatriot Miguel Angel Jimenez.
On June 24, 2017, Carlos Negron knocked out American Derrick Rossi (31-12, 15 KOs) and won the vacant WBC Continental American title [2] .
