Title
During the reign of Ivan the Terrible, servicemen were called up from the city of Galich to serve in Novosil . After the abolition of the Cossacks and the decree of Peter I of 1715, they were evicted from the Novosil fortress and formed a village, naming it according to its historical homeland. The presence of service people from Galich on Novosilsky land is confirmed by information in the Notebooks of the Moscow table [2] [3] .
History
The settlement was most likely formed in the first half of the 18th century. In 1777, a survey was carried out of the villages: "Psheva, Vorotyntsevo, Ostray, Kosareva, Galichi villages with the villages of the Treasury, those villages and villages of the former Cossack services" [2] . In 1852, at the expense of parishioners, a stone temple was built in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God . The previous wooden, consecrated in 1773 was abolished. In 1915, the parish consisted of the village itself, the village of Ivanovka and the villages: Verkhovye , Dedov Kolodez , Sinkovets , Trudy . In the village there were zemstvo and parochial schools [4] .
