The 5th award ceremony of the National Film Award " Ak Ilbirs " for 2015 was held on May 13, 2016 at the Manas cinema. As before, the winners of film awards were awarded in advance in the media [1] [2] . The names of the winners in other categories were announced during the ceremonial presentation of awards.

Special Prizes
- The People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, the cameraman and director Nurtai Borbiyev became the winner in the nomination "For outstanding contribution to the national cinema".
- Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR - Natalya Arinbasarova won the honorary award “For contribution to world cinema” [3] [4].
- In the nomination “The Best Film of Central Asia”, the prize was won by the motion picture film of the Uzbek director Yolkin Tuychiev [5] “House for Mermaids”
