General Features
All modifications of this gun have such common features as a double-sided safety switch, a double-sided magazine latch and a slide delay [4] . All modifications are also equipped with a sight of 3 white or tritium inserts, a Picatinny rail and a magazine charge indicator on the right side [4] . New models are made of hard plastic, they are accompanied by three stores and two (since 2012 four) removable handle panels [4] . The arms differ in thickness, design and colors [5] .
Incomplete disassembly is carried out by shifting the shutter backward, then turning the shutter latch 90 degrees clockwise, and extracting the shutter latch while gently pushing the shutter forward and then removing it. To complete the disassembly, it is necessary to remove the barrel and the gate spring [4] .
Options
By early October 2012, only the FNX-9 and FNX-40 variants had been developed, featuring a shutter (matte black, burnished or stainless steel). In early October, the FNX-45 variant was developed, made of stainless steel with various finishes. Attached to it are magazines with 12 holes (marks from 4 to 15), which allows the shooter to more accurately determine the number of rounds in the magazine. For the original FNX, stores are made with two holes (marked with the numbers 5 and 10), for the FNX-40 with three (5, 10 and 14), for the FNX-9 with four (marks 5, 10, 15 and 17). The FNX Tactical variant is manufactured under the .45 ACP cartridge and provides for the installation of a sight on the shutter [5] .
Principle of Operation
The automation of the FNX series pistols is based on a semi-free shutter with a short barrel stroke (as for other similar pistols). The difference in options is the distance between the barrel and the bolt, which passes the bolt during locking and unlocking the barrel - it is twice as much as in other self-loading pistols. This reduces recoil due to the greater moment of the spring. The trigger mechanism - trigger type, provides for a single or double action. The fuse mechanism is similar to the mechanism in the M1911 pistol . With protection, the weapon is removed when the fuse is moved down [5] .
Market Distribution
Unlike pistols from Glock, SIG Sauer, Heckler & Koch and many others, the FNX is not widely distributed on the market. Used by some U.S. law enforcement agencies. Accessories and spare parts for it are produced by only a few companies. Some of the modifications include longer barrel lengths, various triggers, fuses and holsters. FN FNX holsters are manufactured by White Hat Holsters, Blade Tech, KT Mech, Garrity Gunleather, CrossBreed, Safariland, SHTF, Alien Gear, Cascadia Kydex and Fobus.
