History
Khutor Sukhov 2nd belonged to the yurt of the village of Archadinsky of the Ust-Medveditsky District of the Land of the Don Army (from 1870 - the Don Army Region ). In 1859, 60 men and 94 women lived on the farm [2] . Despite the discovery in 1871 [3] in the immediate vicinity of the Rakovka station farm of the Gryaz-Tsaritsyno railway in the 19th century, the population of the farm grew very slowly. According to the 1897 census , 85 men and 70 women lived on the farm, of whom literate: 30 men, 1 women [4] .
Rapid population growth began only in the 20th century. According to the alphabetical list of the populated areas of the Donskoy Army Region in 1915, the farm had a farm board, an Old Believer prayer house, 356 men and 344 women lived, the land allotment was 2362 tithing [5] .
In 1928, Sukhov 2nd Farm was included in the Mikhailovsky District of the Khopersky District (abolished in 1930) of the Lower Volga Region (since 1934 - the Stalingrad Region ). The farm was part of the Rakovsky village council. In 1935, the Rakovsky District was formed as part of the Stalingrad Territory with its center in Sukhov 2nd Farm [6] . In 1938, the name of the administrative center changed: Sukhov 2nd Farm - Rakovka Farm. In 1955, the Rakovsky district was abolished, the Rakovsky village council was transferred to the Mikhailovsky district [7] . After the transfer to the Mikhailovsokgo district, the settlement is again listed as Sukhov 2nd Farm in the credentials. It was not possible to establish the date of the reverse renaming (no later than 1964) [8] .
In 2012, the farm was included in the urban district of the city of Mikhailovka [9]
Geography
The farm is located in the steppe, within the Volga Upland , on the watershed dividing the peaks of the Kuzmina and Rakovka beams, on both sides of the railway line of the Volgograd I - Povorino branch . The height of the center of the village is about 160 meters above sea level [10] [11] . The soils are southern chernozems [12] .
By road, the distance to the administrative center of the urban district of Mikhailovka is 36 km, to the regional center of Volgograd - 180 km. The nearest settlements: Cheremukhov farm is located 9.5 to the north-east, Glinishche farm - 12 km to the north, Sukhov farm 1 - 17 to the south-west, [13] . On the farm is located Rakovka Volga Railway.
- Climate
The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen - Dfa climate classification ). The long-term rainfall is 420 mm. Most precipitation falls in June - 49 mm, the smallest in February and March - 23 mm each. The average annual temperature is + 6.8 ° С, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is −9.1 ° С, the hottest month of July +22.2 ° С [14] .
