Martin Ehrmann ( German: Martin Ehrmann , November 6, 1795 , Brno - June 19, 1870 , Vienna ) is an Austrian pharmacologist.

He studied in Frydek , then returned to Brno and began working as a pharmacist. In 1819 he entered the University of Vienna , where in 1824 he received a doctorate in chemistry. In 1824-1836 taught pharmacology in the same place, after which he moved to Olmütz , receiving the post of professor of chemistry, physics and botany at the University of Olmütz . In 1846, the rector of the university. Since 1866, retired.
Co-founder of the Austrian Society of Pharmacists (1827), the Moravian Society of Pharmacists (1855) and finally the All-Austrian Society of Pharmacists (1861), operating throughout the Austrian Empire . Since 1825, he edited various periodicals for pharmacists, the most important of which was the Österreichische Zeitschrift für Pharmacie founded in 1847.
Erman's main work is the “Handbook of Pharmaceutical Products and Preparations” ( German: Handbuch der pharmazeutischen Waren- und Präparatenkunde ), published in several editions and under different names in 1826-1845. He also published the textbook Physics for Pharmacists ( German: Lehrbuch der Physik für Pharmazeuten ; 1832) and the Pharmacognosy Handbook ( German: Handbuch der Pharmakognosie ; 1857).
