Biography
Avez Mahmoud oglu Alibekov was born in 1895 in a. Jebrail district of Elizavetpol province [1] . In 1914 he was called up for mobilization in the tsarist army, until 1917 he participated in the First World War , reached the rank of second lieutenant .
During the First World War, fought as part of the Muslim "Wild Division" on the Austrian front. Cavalier of four George crosses. During the Civil War he was commander of a squadron, regiment, brigade as part of the First Cavalry Army . He fought near Rostov, in the Kuban, near Tsaritsyn and in the North Caucasus.
In February 1918 he volunteered for the Red Army .
In the Great Patriotic War as a squadron commander fought in the Caucasus, Kuban and Ukraine. The war ended in Poland, after a severe injury.
Abez Alibekov was awarded the Order of Lenin and medals.
