Otto Zander ( German Otto Zander , August 11, 1886 - June 20, 1938 ) - German chess player and chess functionary, master, participant in congresses of the German Chess Union .

Since 1933, he was the federal manager of the Chess Federation of Great Germany ( German: Großdeutsche Schachbund ). His deputy was the master E. Post , the formal ("honorary") chairman was J. Goebbels . On July 9, 1933, during the inauguration of Zander, he delivered an openly anti-Semitic speech.
He was the overtrufffuhrer of the assault squad (SA). He died on the night of June 20, 1938 during the next operation [1] . He was buried in Heidelberg .
