Andis Korde ( Latvian. Andis Korde ; November 9, 1930, Latvia - January 17, 2016, Sigulda ) - Soviet and Latvian slalom skier , multiple champion of Latvia [1] . He was a coach of Jana Zvejniece, Kristap Zvejniek and Dan Jansons [2] .

In the 1970s, he created a new ski run on Gaisinkalns , which later became known as Cordes (by the name of the founder). [3]
With his brother Ziedonis, he did a great job on the development of winter sports in Latvia. In 2014, he received the award “For many years of contribution to sport” from the Sigulda Region [4] .
He died on January 18, 2016 during a mass skiing competition on the Kakiskalns track near Sigulda . He was buried in the Sigulda cemetery.
