Biography
Before starting a journalistic career, she was professionally involved in several sports, including playing for the national team of her country [3] . She was engaged in criminal journalism, developing the topic of drug trafficking in Ireland. The criminals threatened her and her family, in 1994 the house of Guerin was shot at by unknown people.
Murder
She was shot in her own car with six shots from a revolver on June 26, 1996. The attempt was carried out by two men moving on a motorcycle . The murder caused widespread publicity and led to the creation of the Criminal Assets Bureau service in Ireland. The funeral of the journalist was attended by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Army of Ireland. The unions declared a moment of silence in her memory.
