Medal "For service in the occupying army" [1] ( eng. Army of Occupation Medalletters. "Medal of the Army of Occupation") was established by the US Department of War on April 5, 1946. She was awarded with US troops who served for at least 30 days in the occupation units after World War II in Germany, Japan, Austria or Italy.

The medal is made of bronze, across is 1.25 inches .
Obverse: image of the Remagen bridge , the inscription ARMY OF OCCUPATION (from the English - “OCCUPATION ARMY”).
Reverse: in the center is the image of the Japanese Mount Fuji , Japanese junks and the date 1945 .
