Sunanda Kumariratana ( Thai สุ นันทา กุมารี รัตน์ ; November 10, 1860 - May 31, 1880) is the wife of King Siam , daughter of King Siam Mongkut (Rama IV) and Princess Consort Piyaamvadi. She was the half-sister and first wife of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). The other two wives of Chulalongkorn, Queen Savang Wadhana and Queen Saovabha Bongshri, were her full younger sisters.

The Queen and her daughter drowned when her boat rolled over on the way to Bangpain Palace (Summer Palace). Since members of the royal family were inviolable, numerous witnesses to the accident did not try to save them, fearing the death penalty. Chulalongkorn later erected a memorial to his wife and their unborn child in the Bangpain Palace [1] .
