The Vedensky State Biological Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary located in the highlands of the Vedeno district and in the Sharoy district of Chechnya . It was created in 1963 with the goal of preserving and restoring rare and endangered species of plants and animals. On the southern slope of the Andean ridge, the alpine lake Kezenoyam adjoins the reserve.

The reserve is located in the Vedeno and Sharoy regions of Chechnya. The reserve area is 43,700 hectares [1] [2] , including 18 thousand hectares of forest hunting land, 20 thousand hectares of subalpine and alpine meadows, 5.7 thousand hectares of masons and talus [3] .
The northern border of the reserve runs from the village of Dutsu-Khota to the east along the lower border of the forest to the village of Elistanji . The eastern border is from Elistanji through the former village of Ziverhi to Lake Kezenoyam . The southern border is from Lake Kezenoi-Am along the border with Dagestan to the Chadari River. In the west, the border of the reserve runs along the Chadari river until it flows into the Sharoargun river and further to the village of Sharo-Argun , then from the village of Sharo-Argun along the southern glades of the blocks 87, 99 and 98 of the Vedeno forestry to the village of Dutsu-Khota [1] [3] .
On the territory of the Vedeno reserve is the Argun State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve [2] .
