Biography
Born on November 8, 1898 in St. Petersburg. He studied at the University of Leningrad with Professor V. L. Komarov .
After graduation, he worked as a laboratory assistant in the Main Botanical Garden in Leningrad, then worked as a science teacher at the school.
The main area of interest of the scientist was the aquatic flora of the Leningrad region. In 1925, he studied the vegetation of the Mgi valley, in 1926-1927 - the vegetation of the lakes of the Luga region , provided lists of the floras of each of the considered lakes.
He identified several geographic races within the traditionally widely understood species Dictamnus albus L. ( white ash ). Also, N. A. Winter was engaged in the taxonomy of the Rogulnik clan.
He took part in the compilation of the regional monograph Flora of the Southeast, processed for this work the families Khvostnikovye , Slanoanagodnikovy , Rogulnikovy , and the genus Bubbleweed .
