Biography
Born in Westerlo , Belgium . His family moved to the Central African Republic when he was 14 years old. While he was attending a French school there, he began to develop an interest in photographing. For his shots, Joe used his father’s camera Leica M6 . There he began to show interest in cinema , visiting the local video store, which was run by a French movie fan. In 1989, he moved to Brussels to study at Saint Lucas Art School . The next place of study was the London Film School. Since 2000, married to actress Karen O'Brien [1] . He is a member of the Belgian Society of Cinematographers [2] , the American Society of Cinematographers [3] since 2015, and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2016.
