Filaret Khadievich Shagabutdinov (born February 12, 1947 ) is a Soviet and Russian graphic artist and painter . Member of the Union of Artists since 1977. Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan (2014).

Biography
Filaret Shagabutdinov was born on February 12, 1948 in the village of Akhmerovo , which was part of the Aurgazinsky district of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic [1] .
In 1966 he graduated from the Ufa College of Arts [1] . After graduating from college, he lived for some time in Siberia (in particular, in the city of Belovo, Kemerovo region ). He taught at the art school, was engaged in graphics. In 1974 he returned to Ufa, where he received the post of artist of the Bashkir creative and production plant. In 1998 he became a teacher at the Ufa College of Arts [1] [2] .
Creativity
The Bashkir encyclopedia calls it "one of the brightest representatives" of Bashkir graphics. Known for his work in linocut techniques (series "Old Ufa", 1976; "Winter Motive", 1985), etching ("After the Snowfall", 1978), and drawing ("On Kazan Street", 1985). From the first half of the 1990s, the artist turned to painting ("Contemplation", 1993; "Waiting for haymaking", 1999; and others), continuing to work in the field of graphics (series "My City", 1995) [1] .
According to G. G. Kalitov , the author of the monograph “Bashkir School of Painting”, the works of Filaret Shagabutdinov of the 1990s - 2000s relate “to the direction of postmodernism, which is characterized by a denial of the forms and aesthetics of the past” [2] .
Recognition
Exhibitions
Since 1972, participates in various exhibition projects (including international). Solo exhibitions of the artist were repeatedly held in Ufa (1997-1999, 2000-2005, 2007, 2011); in 2010, his personal exhibition was held in Magnitogorsk [1] . In 2013, the Ufa Art Gallery held a personal exhibition of Filaret Shaga ( Shaga is a creative pseudonym [1] ) dedicated to his 65th birthday [2] .
Works in Museum Collections
The artist's works are presented in collections of various Russian and foreign museums, including in the collections of the National Museum of Art named after Gapar Aitiev ( Bishkek ) [3] , BGHM , Ufa Art Gallery (Ufa) [1] .
Awards and titles
He is a member of the Union of Artists since 1977 [1] . In 2014 he was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan” [3] .
