Artist J. Dubouz ( born Artist J. Dubose ), better known as A Boogie wit da Hoodie (or simply A Boogie ) is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. Best known for the track " Drowning ", which peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 [1] . His debut studio album The Bigger Artist was released on September 29, 2017 and debuted in fourth place on the Billboard 200 chart . Later the second studio album, Hoodie SZN, was released on December 21, 2018, becoming its first album at number one on Billboard 200 [2] . He signed a deal with Highbridge and Atlantic Records .

Early life
Artist J. Dubouse was born on December 6, 1995 in Highbridge, a neighborhood of New York. [3] He studied at DeWitt Clinton High School , and grew up with 50 Cent music and Kanye West . [4] At the age of 12, he began writing rhymes. In his youth, in order to get money to record his songs at the studio, he sold marijuana . After he got in trouble, he and his family moved to Florida , where he was arrested at least 5 times for burglary and drug possession. He was assigned house arrest , and later he returned to Highbridge. [five]
Musical career
In February 2016 he released his first full-fledged project - Artist mixtape . Subsequently, The New York Times called the album one of the best of the year, [6] and Forbes magazine attached the status of promising hip-hop artist to it. [7] In the spring of the same year, he publishes a mixed mixtape with hip-hop artist from Highbridge Don Q called Highbridge the Label: The Takeover Vol.1 . He then took part in a joint tour of Drake and the Future "Summer Sixteen", where he performed at the opening. [8] In the summer, the Artist announced a contract between him and Atlantic Records record label. [9] “There are very few musical changes out there [New York] - we have to be part of it all,” commented Cray Callman, chairman and CEO of Atlantic Records. In the fall, A Boogie unveiled his first mini-album called TBA (an abbreviation of The Bigger Artist ). [10] As a result, the release debuted at number 63 on the Billboard 200 chart , and Rolling Stone included it in the list of the best hip-hop albums of the year. [11] On September 29, 2017, the artist released his debut studio album called The Bigger Artist. [12]
