Borsuki are several Cossack-elders of the same name, subsequently noble families , which may have a common origin. The most famous of them originates from the Nezhin regimental centurion (1649-1644) Ivan Borsuk. His son - Mark Ivanovich Borsuk - was the centurion of the 3rd regiment of the Nezhin hundreds (1672) and the Nezhin colonel (1675-1677). Mark's descendants served in the Nezhinsky regiment and held the posts of centurions and regimental foreman .

Another family includes: Peter Borsuk (? -1706) - the Kozeletsky centurion (1701-1702) and the Kiev colonel (1706), his son Yakov Petrovich Borsuk (? - ok 1742) - the Kiev punished colonel (1706, 1709), the Kiev regimental Yesaul (1729), the Kozeletsky city chieftain (1729-1731), his grandchildren Zinovy Yakovlevich Borsuk (c. 1720 - c. 1785) - the Kiev regimental clerk (1742-1753), the Kiev regimental judge (1753-64) and the Kiev regimental convoy ( 1764-1781) and Yakim Yakovlevich Borsuk (? -1759) - the Old-Duban colonel (1757-1759).
Borsuki's births are included in the 2nd and 3rd parts of the Genealogical books of the Chernihiv province .
