Belainesh Zevadiah ( Heb. בליינש זבדיה , Amh . በላይነሽ ዚቫዲያ ; born April 21, 1967 in Gonder , Ethiopia ) is an Israeli diplomat. In 2012, she was appointed Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi .

Zevadia is the first Ethiopian immigrant in Israel to be appointed ambassador. [1] [2] She was also the first Ethiopian to enter the Israeli Foreign Ministry as a trainee. [1] [3]
Zevadia graduated from high school in Addis Abbeba and immigrated to Israel in 1984 at the age of 17. [4] She was born into a Jewish family in the Gondar region of Ethiopia. [1] She graduated from Hebrew University with a degree in International Relations and Anthropology. [5]
Prior to her appointment to Ethiopia, Zevadia served as consul in Houston and Chicago . [2]
