Biography
She was born in 1928 in a peasant family in the village of Vesyolaya (today - Pavlovsky district , Krasnodar Territory ). Together with her parents she moved to the Novyi farm. In 1946, a field link of the Komsomolets collective farm of the Pavlovsky district was appointed.
In 1948, the link of Lidia Kurkina collected an average of 36.67 centners of wheat per hectare on a plot of 25 hectares. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 10, 1949, for receiving high yields of wheat when the collective farm complies with obligatory deliveries and contracting for all types of agricultural products, an in kind payment for the work of the MTS in 1948 and provision of seeds for all crops in the amount of the total need for spring sowing in 1949, was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Hammer and Sickle Medal.
After retirement, she lived in the village of Pavlovskaya , where she died in 1997.
