Biography
Wilhelmina - a representative of the Hessian nobility, daughter of Baron Konrad Heinrich Ernst Friedrich von Dernberg and Baroness Wilhelmina Sofia von Glauburg, was brought up in a Protestant spirit. She married Prince Maximilian Karl Thurn-i-Taxis , son of Prince Karl Alexander Thurn-i-Taxis and Duchess Teresa of Mecklenburg . This marriage was not uniform and took place in spite of the opposition of the princely family of Thurn-i-Taxis, especially the mother of the groom Teresa of Mecklenburg , as well as King Bavaria Ludwig I , cousin Maximilian Karl Thurn-i-Taxis. The spouses had five children.
In 1834, Princess Wilhelmina fell seriously ill during a trip to the Bohemian possessions of Turn-i-Taxis. At the beginning of 1835, the princess went to Nuremberg for treatment with a homeopathic doctor, Reuters. Hopes to recover did not materialize, and Princess Thurn-i-Taxis died at the age of 32. The princess was buried in a specially built for her mausoleum in the residence of Thurn-i-Taxis in Regensburg .
