Avishuy ( al-Heb. אֲבִישׁוּעַ - Avishua , in the synodal translation also Aviud ) is a biblical character. The grandson of the Jewish high priest Eleazar and the son of the high priest Phinehas . Mentioned in the book of Chronicles ( 1 Chronicles 6: 4-5.50 ) and in the Book of Ezra ( Ezra. 7: 5 ).

Perhaps he was the high priest at the Tabernacle in Shiloh , the fourth in the line of Jewish high priests.
According to Samaritan tradition, he wrote down the Scroll of Abishi ( Hebrew ספר אבישע ) - the oldest copy of the Samaritan Pentateuch , dating back to the 13th century BC (dated to the 11th – 14th centuries A.D. )
