He began to act as a professional since the 2011 season, when, after winning the underdog in the group race at the 2010 Belgian Championship, he was noticed and invited to the Belgian pro-continental team “ Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator ”. In its composition, in 2012, excelled in the fighting classification of Eneco Tour , a year later repeating this achievement. On Liege - Bastogne - Liege 2012 was among the disqualified athletes for cutting the route of the race.
De Vrez started the 2014 season in the Belgian team Wanty-Groupe Gobert . In August 2014, Laurens joined the Astana Pro Team , which is taking part in a world tour .
