Biography
He received his secondary education at the gymnasium of St. Miron in his small homeland and at the secondary school of St. Barbara in Herakleon [1] .
From his youth, he was closely associated with the Gorgoliniani St. George Monastery and its rector Archimandrite Eugene (Politis) , since 1994 - Metropolitan of Ierapitinsky and Sitia [1] .
In March 1995 he graduated from the theological faculty of the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki [2] .
On June 24, 1995, Metropolitan Eugene (Politis) was tonsured a monk at . The next day in the cathedral church of the same monastery was ordained a hierodeacon [1] .
May 17, 1998 in the cathedral of St. Photinius in the city of Ierapetra was ordained to the rank of hieromonk with the elevation to the rank of archimandrite [1] .
On January 1, 1999, he was appointed protosingel of the Hierapitnes and Sitia Metropolis, and served in this capacity for eighteen years [1] .
June 6, 2001 was appointed codographer of the Holy Synod of the Cretan Orthodox Church [1] .
On October 30, 2003, he was secretary, and on November 7, 2006, he was the chief editor of the official periodical of the Cretan Church, the Apostle Titus (Απόστολος Τίτος) [1] .
May 26, 2005 appointed junior secretary of the Holy Synod of the Cretan Orthodox Church [1] .
On September 12, 2010, he was appointed Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Cretan Orthodox Church [1] .
On October 12, 2016, by the decision of the Holy Synod, the Cretan Orthodox Church was elected to be ordained Metropolitan of Ierapinta and Sitia [1] .
On October 17, 2016, in the Metropolitan Church of St. Mina in Heraklion, he was consecrated bishop and elevated to the dignity of Metropolitan of Hierapitnes and Sitia . The consecration was performed by: the Archbishop of Cretan Irenaeus (Athanasiadis) , the Metropolitan of Lambian-Sivritos and Sphakia Irenaeus (Mesarchakis) , Metropolitan Gortinsky Makarii (Dulufakis) , Metropolitan Arkalohori, Kastelli and Viannios Anthony (Nicholas) Andrei Nanim (Nicholas) (St. Nicholas) , Andrei Nicholas (Nicholas) , Andrei Nimon (Archangel) Andronikakis) , Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apocoron Damascene (Papayannakis) , Metropolitan of Peter and Herronis Gerasim (Marmatakis) , Metropolitan of Didimotih, Orestiada and Soufli Damascin (Karpafakis) , Episcopal Osprey of Naples Porfiry (Maheriotis) and Bishop of Christopolis Macarius (Grinezakis) [3] .
