Biography
He played for ShVSM Krasnoyarsk and the Armed Forces Sports Club, represented the Krasnoyarsk Territory . Coach - Yevgeny Anatolyevich Pylev.
Repeated winner of the championship of Russia , including in 2004, won bronze in the race of patrols and in the team race. In 2007 he became the champion in the team race, and in the mass start at the open championship of the country he took the third place among the Russian participants. In 2008 he became the silver medalist in the race of patrols.
At the 2006 Asian Championships in summer biathlon (cross), he won a silver medal in the mass start, a bronze medal in the sprint and the pursuit race [1] . At the 2007 World Championships in Otepää he took part in roller skating races, became the champion in the pursuit [2] , and was fourth in the sprint.
In June 2008, he was hit by a car during cycling training [3] . A few days later, on June 12, 2008, he died in the hospital in Divnogorsk , without regaining consciousness. He left a wife and daughter.
In recent years, annual summer biathlon competitions in memory of Alexander Grizan are held in the Krasnoyarsk Territory [4] . In 2009, the winner of the next pursuit race at the summer world championships, Michael Roche , was awarded the prize in memory of Alexander Grizan [5] .
