Biography
She studied at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Latvia , then in 1985 she graduated from the Theater Department of the Latvian State Conservatory (course by Adolf Shapiro ). In the same year she entered the troupe of the Riga Youth Theater and made her debut as a Jewish wife in the production of Bertolt Brecht 's play “ Fear and Despair in the Third Empire ”, for which she received an award at the Baltic Theater Spring festival in Tallinn. The role of the architect’s wife in Gunar Pryde ’s play “Snow-capped Mountains” (1987) was marked by a letter from the Ministry of Culture of the Latvian SSR. Since 1988, a member of the Latvian Theater Union.
After the closing of the Youth Theater in 1992, Apine became an actress of the New Riga Theater , where she worked with directors such as Alvis Hermanis , Mara Kimele , Viesturs Kairishs , Vladislav Nastavshev . Among the most notable roles are Lady Crum in " Arcadia " by Tom Stoppard (staged by Hermanis), Margarita in the play of the same name by Mary Zalite based on " Faust " (nomination for the "Night of the Makers" award for the best actress, 2001), Iraida Lvovna Verbina in a dramatization of the novel by Mikhail Kuzmina's “ Floating-Traveling ”, as well as a one-man show based on the play by Yun Fosse “Rambuku” (directed by Roman Birmanis). She acted several times as a theater director, staging, in particular, the performances “Parsifal, or In Search of the Holy Grail” (1999) and “The Man Who Was Thursday” by G. K. Chesterton (2004).
She starred in eight feature films, including in the film " Terrible Summer ."
