Wake Up (album)

Wake Up is the debut Japanese studio album for the South Korean BTS boy band . It was released on December 24, 2014 . Consists of 13 songs, including the Japanese version of the singles “No More Dream”, “Boy in Luv” and “Danger”; there are also two new Japanese songs - “The Stars” and “Wake Up”. The album debuted in second place on the Oricon chart .

Release and Promotion

Singles

The first and debut single, the Japanese version of “No More Dream,” was released on June 4, 2014. He debuted in eighth place on the Oricon chart , sales for the first week amounted to 34 thousand copies [1] . In limited editions, in addition to this single (as in the standard edition) there is a Japanese version of the song “Attack on Bangtan” ( Japanese 進 撃 の 防 弾 ), while the standard edition includes the Japanese version of “Like” ( Japanese い い ね! )

The Japanese version of “Boy in Luv” as a second single was released on July 16, 2014 and took the fourth peak in Japan's single chart [2] ; in the first week over 44 thousand copies were sold [3] . In the standard edition, in addition to this single, there was a Japanese version of “Just One Day”, and in limited editions there was a Japanese version of “NO”.

The third and final single was the Japanese version of Danger, released on November 19, 2014. In the first week, sales amounted to 49,124 copies, which allowed the single to debut in fifth place on the Oricon chart [4] . In limited editions, there was also a SONPUB remix of the Japanese version of Attack on Bangtan. The standard edition included the Japanese version of Miss Right.

Promotion

For the album’s promotion, the band went on their first Japanese tour 防 弾 少年 団 1st JAPAN TOUR 2015 「WAKE UP: OPEN YOUR EYES」 . From February 10 to 19, 2015, they held concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka, with an average of 25 thousand spectators at each show [5] .
