US Open 2016 - The 136th annual annual Grand Slam Series professional tennis tournament held in the US city of New York on the courts of the local National Tennis Center named Billy Jean King . [1] Traditionally, the winners of the competition are identified in nine categories: in five - in adults and four - in senior juniors .

In 2016, the matches of the main nets were held from August 29 to September 11. The competition traditionally concluded the season of the series of tournaments within the calendar year. For the 13th time in a row, the tournament was preceded by the bonus US Open Series for singles among adults, the six strongest according to the results of which, based on its results at the US Open, further increased its prize income. The prize fund of the competition was a record $ 46.3 million [2] .
