In the Kazakh-Dzungarian wars led the militia of the Matai clan. He died during the battle near the Sarysu River. He was buried in the Khoja Ahmet Yassawi memorial complex . The father of Boribay-Batyr Sary-Myrza in 1688-1689 headed the Kazakh embassy in Tobolsk . Among the descendants of Boribay-batyr are Bicken-ana, sons of Syrttan Barlybek and Turlybek, Tanek-batyr, Kydyraly, Maman, Turysbek. The deeds of Boribay-batyr are sung in the songs of the Sepps-series, Dastemsal, Zhankisi .
