Geography
The village is located on the border with the Chuvash Republic , 48 kilometers southwest of the city of Zelenodolsk .
History
The village was founded in the second half of the XVII century.
In the XVIII - the first half of the XIX century, residents belonged to the category of state peasants , carried the Lashman service. Along with farming and raising livestock, they were engaged in jewelry, carpentry, shoemaking and brick crafts, and from the 1840s, felting and felting. According to 1830, there was a mosque in Akzigitovo. Since 1872, a madrassah functioned under it. In 1890, with the money of the merchant Z.S. Shafigullin, a second mosque with a madrasah was built, in 1899 - 1900 a third, in 1898 a male new method school was the only one in the Civil district of the Kazan province , in 1906 a girls' madrasah was later converted to a Russian-Tatar school. In the 1910s, the number of students in these educational institutions reached 442 people.
At the beginning of the 20th century, steam, 3 windmills and 3 water mills, 6 small shops functioned in Akzigitovo. During this period, the land allotment of the rural community was 1990.6 acres. Until 1896, the village was the center of Akzigitovskoy volost , since 1896 it was part of the Novo-Kovalinskaya volost of Tsivilsky district. In 1920-21, it was part of the Chuvash Autonomous Region . Since September 22, 1921 in the Sviyazh canton of the TASSR .
