History

The construction of the hospital, which is absolutely necessary for the growing city, was carried out on the initiative of the director of the Azovstal plant Vladimir Leporsky and with the funds of the plant since the late 1970s in the area of ​​new residential microdistricts No. 16-18 of Zhovtnevy Zhdanov district . The eight-story building of the hospital was commissioned on January 2, 1980 , and solemnly opened only on April 22, 1980 . For more than 10 years from the opening, the hospital performed the function of not only serving the residents of the district, but also the medical part of the Azovstal plant. The modern single-unit hospital project was designed for 600 beds, which gave the hospital the status of the largest in the city. [one]

The first departments that came into operation on April 22, 1980 were traumatology, surgery, ENT departments and anesthesiology department. A cardiology department appeared in May, an ophthalmology department was opened on July 30, 1980 (now - an eye microsurgery department), and on August 10 a neurological department. A resuscitation department (intensive care unit) has been operating since 1991, a geriatric department since December 31, 1999 (transferred to GB No. 9 on January 1, 2017 ), and a hospital hospital since November 1, 2001 (transferred to GB No. 9 on January 1, 2017) . Since June 1, 2012, the urology department for 45 beds was transferred from the Mariupol BSMP. In the summer of 2015, computed tomography and mammography rooms were commissioned. Plans to create a multidisciplinary regional hospital based on the hospital have existed since the beginning of 2016 [2] .

On December 22, 2016, by order of the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration No. 1163 "On the adoption of the common property of territorial communities of villages, towns, cities under the control of the regional council, the integral property complex of the municipal institution" Mariupol City Hospital No. 2, the city hospital was transformed into a regional hospital with a name change [3] . From January 1, 2017, the geriatric and hospital-geriatric departments (each with 30 beds were transferred to hospital No. 9) were withdrawn from the hospital and transferred from the City Hospital Itza No. 5, Mariupol ”, a neurosurgical department with 60 beds, as well as a medical consultation was transferred to the Mariupol Territorial Medical Association“ Child and Woman Health ”KU. As of the beginning of 2019, the hospital is continuing work on thermal modernization of the room and the necessary repairs of the operating unit and emergency department, as well as the extension of the MRI room. [one]

On December 17, 2018, by order of the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration No. 1503 / 5-18 “On the reorganization of healthcare facilities in the Donetsk region, which are jointly owned by the territorial communities of villages, towns, cities and towns under the control of the Donetsk Regional Council,” the regional hospital began the process of turning into a community-based non-profit company.
