Biography
Born October 12, 1797 in Lille . He studied at the University of Paris , in 1818 received a doctorate in medicine.
In 1835, he studied the problems of the plague epidemic in Algeria .
In 1839 he was elected to the French National Assembly .
Since 1868 - commander of the Legion of Honor .
He died in Paris on November 22, 1876 .
