Biography
Kornut was a native of the North African city of Leptis Magna in Libya, but he lived mostly in Rome. He was known primarily as a teacher and friend of Persia , whose fifth satire is addressed to him. After the death of Persia, Kornut returned to the sisters of Persia that portion of the inheritance which the deceased wrote to him. But he still accepted the Persian library, numbering approximately 700 volumes. Kornut was expelled by the Roman emperor Nero around 66 years old.
His main work, which has come down to our times, is the philosophical treatise "Greek Theology", a name that was probably invented a little later. This was an early example of a Roman educational treatise .
