Nikolskaya, Antonina Petrovna

Antonina Petrovna Nikolskaya (February 11, 1899 - June 9, 1994) - Soviet and Russian doctor - surgeon , oncologist . Founder of the Oncology Service of the Kaluga Region; Chief physician of the Kaluga Regional Oncology Center. Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honorary Citizen of Kaluga (1967) [1] .

Biography

Born in the village of Kapustniki, Medynsky district [2] [3] .

A graduate of the Kaluga Diocesan Women's School. She worked as a teacher [4] [5] .

In 1925 she graduated from the 2nd Moscow State University [6] , after which she worked as a surgeon-intern in the Kaluga hospital. From 1941 to 1945 she worked in army hospitals as a leading surgeon [1] .

On October 4, 1946, an oncology room was opened at the Kaluga Regional Hospital. He laid the foundation for oncological medicine in the region. It was headed by Nikolskaya, during the war years - the surgeon of the army hospital. In 1954, the office turned into an independent branch. It was led by Antonina Petrovna until 1984.

On May 4, 1975, a monument to military doctors was unveiled in Kaluga. The right to open it was granted to veteran doctors Antonina Petrovna Nikolskaya and Cleopatra Nikolaevna Shevchenko , former senior nurse of the 12th Guards Division Ekaterina Georgievna Putilina, deputy head of the Kaluga military hospital L.I. Dolgonog and a student at the medical school Vera Durova. [7]

She lived in the Annenki microdistrict on Vishnevsky Street, 9/72. She was one of the most respected doctors in the region [8] . She died in Kaluga on June 9, 1994 at the age of 95.
