Ludwik Lille ( Polish. Ludwik Lille ; 1897 , Podvolochisk , Austria-Hungary (now Podvolochissky district of the Ternopil region of Ukraine ) - 1957 , Paris ) - Polish painter, illustrator and graphic artist, critic of Jewish origin. The representative of surrealism in the 1930s and metaphorical art in the 1940-1950s.

Biography
He studied medicine in Lviv . In 1918-1919 he became close to the representatives of existentialism , grouped around the magazine "Zdrój" ( Poznan ).
In 1920, together with the formists, he exhibited his works in Lviv, Krakow and Warsaw.
In 1921 he moved to Berlin . He studied at the Higher School of Construction and Art Design , later returned to Lviv.
In 1923-1925 - a supporter of the German style "new reality" .
In 1923–1937, he was engaged in illustrating, stage design, designing decorations for performances of experimental Lviv theaters (Semaphore Theater, from 1925), and directed the Artes youth association (until 1930), which held 12 exhibition halls in Western Ukraine.
In 1924 he worked in the studio of A. P. Arkhipenko in Berlin.
He was deputy chairman, later chairman of the trade union of Polish creative workers. He was involved in the popularization and criticism of art, he broadcast on radio.
In 1934 he organized the Museum of Jewish Art in Lviv and was its leader.
In 1937 he emigrated to France. During the German occupation was a member of the Polish group of the French resistance movement .
After the end of the war, he was chairman of the Union of Polish Artists in France and a member of the French Society of Artists ( Société des Peintres-Graveurs ).
