Saint Modest became bishop when the Franks seized the city of Trier [3] . Despite general confusion, he remained in Trier until his death, which happened in 489 for natural reasons. His cult was first witnessed in the XII century and was associated with the Benedictine Abbey of Saints Eucharius and Matthias in Trier [4] . The relics of St. Modest rest in the parish church of this abbey [5] .
