Biography
Born in an intelligent family. Both of his parents were teachers. Passed the matriculation certificate in 1939, a couple of months before the start of the war . He entered the medical faculty of the Jagiellonian University , but due to the closure of Polish universities by the Germans, he moved to the Krakow Trade School . After graduation, he worked in the city real estate department. He was a member of the Craiova Army .
After the war he studied at the Medical University of the Jagiellonian University. He received a doctor’s diploma in 1949, and a year later he defended a doctorate.
Since October 1, 1949, he worked as a surgeon in a district hospital in Mikolow . In 1954 he moved to the II clinic of obstetrics and female diseases of the Silesian Medical Academy in Bytom , and since 1979 he worked in the department of the 1st clinic of obstetrics and gynecology in Tychy .
In 1982-1987, the head of the IV department and clinic of obstetrics and gynecology of the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice . Ordinary professor.
The areas of scientific interest were infertility in women and men, contraception , perinatal diagnosis , diabetes of pregnant women , and geriatric gynecology . Author of many articles in national and international journals. Author of the main textbooks on the subject of gynecology: “Care for pregnant women” (1961), “Gynecology” (1982, together with Rudolf Klimka) and “Perinatal medicine” (1984, together with Zbigniew Slomka).
He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta , the Badge for Excellence in Healthcare and the Medical Lavra.
He died on January 4, 2016. He was buried at Rakovitsky cemetery .
