Biography
He was born in 1935 on May 17 in the village of Karasu in the former Taldy-Korgan region (now it is the Almaty region ).
He graduated from the Faculty of History of KazGU .
In 1970, during the excavation of the Issyk barrow near Almaty, a unique monument was opened as part of a group (the leader is Kemal Akishevich Akishev ).
The remains of a warrior in golden clothes were found in a Saki barrow 6 meters high. The grave contained more than four thousand ornaments made of sheet gold, which were originally sewn onto clothes, shoes and a hat, as well as gold rings, bronze and gold weapons, and various vessels. The find belongs to the V — III centuries BC.
Altyn Adam ("Golden Man") has become one of the symbols of independent Kazakhstan.
Nurmukhanbetov initiated the creation of the Issyk Museum-Reserve on the site of the Saki barrows. The museum building houses expositions with authentic Saki-themed objects and modern artifact reconstructions.
He died on June 12, 2016, was buried near the city of Issyk (Yesik).
