Biography

Elena Petrovna Karyakina was born on March 11 (24), 1902 .

In the years 1918-1920 she was a mimic [1] of the Mikhailovsky Theater in Petrograd . In 1920-1922 she played in the mobile theater "Drama and Comedy" (under the direction of I.K. Samarin-Elsky ). At the same time, she studied at the School of Acting (now the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts ; class of E.P. Karpov and L.S. Vivien ).

After graduating from school in 1922 she was accepted into the troupe of the State Drama Theater (now the Alexandrinsky Theater ). In addition, in 1924-1931 she performed in operettas at the Mikhailovsky Theater (at that time called the Small Opera House).

She died on November 27, 1979, was buried at the Serafimovsky cemetery in St. Petersburg .
