Geographical position
According to the US Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.47 km².
History
Fair Lawn was incorporated as a borough by the New Jersey Legislature Act on March 6, 1924. It was isolated from the Saddle River Township [1] . The active period of growth of the city was in 1940-50.

According to the 2010 census, the population of Fair-Lone was 32,457 people (of which 48.0% were men and 52.0% were women), the city had 11,930 households and 8966 families. 12266 buildings with an average density of 910.6 buildings per square kilometer of land were located on the territory of the city. Racial composition : white - 84.4%, African Americans - 1.7, Asians - 9.7%, Native Americans - 0.1%. According to the 2016 census, 8.1% of the inhabitants were of German origin, 7.2% were of Polish origin, 15.0% were Italian, 10.5% were Irish, 2.6% were English, 9.7% were Russian, 3, 5% - Ukrainian [2] .
The population of the city by age range according to the 2010 census was as follows: 22.0% - residents under 18 years of age, 2.9% - between 18 and 21 years old, 58.8% - from 21 to 65 years old and 16.3% - at the age of 65 years and older. The average age of the population is 43.1 years. For every 100 females in Fair Lawn, there are 92.2 males, while for 100 adult females there are already 88.9 males of comparable age [2] .
Of the 11,930 households, 75.2% were families: 62.7% of couples living together (28.4% with children under the age of 18); 9.1% are women living without husbands and 3.4% are men living without wives. 24.8% did not have a family. On average, 2.70 people conduct households, and the average family size is 3.17 people. Alone, 21.3% of the population lived, 10.7% were single elderly people (over 65) [2] .
Economics
In 2014, out of 26,966 people over 16 had 17,600 jobs. At the same time, men had a median income of $ 73,987 a year, compared to $ 62,253 of the average annual income for women. In 2014, the median income for a family was estimated at $ 117,667, for a household - at $ 102,716. The per capita income is $ 42,444 per year [2] .
