It was founded in 1649 [2] . The name comes from the Chuvash. Satarkka “ dense, frequent (about the forest), thicket a”, Chuvash. syrma "ravine".
The distance to the city of Cheboksary is 103 km, to the district center 13 km. There are 4 streets in the village: Schmidt, Karl Marx, Novaya, Chapaeva. From 1913 to 2005, a primary school operated in the village. [3]
