Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Irmes river ( Klyazma basin) on the Suzdal - Gavrilov Posad highway, 6 km north-west of the district center of the city of Suzdal .
History
The village of Romanovo is mentioned in the “Tsar’s Charter to the Suzdal Pokrovsky Maiden’s Monastery of 1606”, which Tsar Vasily Ivanovich confirms for the monastery the estates donated by the former tsars and various persons. Another confirmation letter to the village of Romanovo Pokrovsky monastery was given by Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich in 1623. In 1764, after the abolition of the monastic estates, Romanovo passed into the department of state property. The stone church existing in the village, with the same bell tower, was built by the zeal of the parishioners in 1795 with the blessing of the bishop. Victor, Bishop of Suzdal and Vladimir. Until 1851, the church had one cold throne in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in 1852 a warm chapel with a throne was set up in the name of the holy martyrs Flora and Laurus. In 1896, 48 yards in the village of Romanovo, 111 male showers, and 137 female showers [2] .
In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Yanevsky volost of the Suzdal district .
Since 1929, the village was the center of the Romanovsky village council of the Suzdal region , and later - as part of the Veski village council .

In the village is the active Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1795) [2] .
