History
The original Viennese amber camp was designed by the Austrian Anton Dreher in 1840. Dreer created a large brewing company in Vienna, and later founded a brewery in Budapest , Trieste and Mikhailovets ( Bohemia ). In the 1930s, the Vienna brewery went bankrupt and Viennese beer ceased to be produced in Austria, but began to live a new life in Mexico, where Santiago Graf and other Austrian immigrant brewers were transferred at the end of the 19th century.
The style was again revived in Austria in the early 1990s.
Features
This type of beer owes its characteristics to Viennese malt. Only high-quality malt is used in combination with continental European hops of noble varieties. American versions are stronger, drier and more bitter, while European versions are generally sweet.
This type of beer is bright red from amber to copper; transparency rich yellow and stable foam, rich malt flavor and aroma of Viennese or Munich malt with hop notes.
Many Mexican amber and dark lagers in the past were authentic, but today they most resemble the sweet, with many additives dark American lager.
