Creation History
Karnak, created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby , first appeared in Fantastic Four # 45 (December 1965).
Biography
Karnak is the representative of the Inhumans , a member of the royal family, born in Attilan . The cousin of the Black Thunder King Inhumans. Karnak has the ability to find a weak spot with any person or object. Thus, he usually serves as the Inhumans scheduler. He is also a priest and philosopher.
Karnak is Triton's brother, who survived terrogensis before him. But after the terrogenesis radically changed Triton, his parents, Mander and Azur, begged Karnak not to undergo this procedure. Instead, he was sent to a monastery, where he studied martial arts.
He usually acts with his relatives, the Gorgon and the Triton. He took part in most adventures of the Inhumans, such as the Kree and Skrull Wars , and many of the movements of the city of Attilan.
Karnak and the royal family are faced with the creation of Maskimus Trikon, after which they are expelled from Attilan. [2]
Karnak first appeared when he tried to bring back his cousin Gorgon and Queen Medusa from the outside world back to Attilan. This led to a conflict with the Fantastic Four , the first people he met, who sheltered Medusa after saving her from the Terrible Four . Accordingly, Karnak is indirectly responsible for revealing the existence of Attilan to the outside world. Karnak, along with the royal family, fought with Maximus, and was trapped under the negative barrier created by Maximus around the Vault [3] . He was released along with the rest of the Inhumans of the Fantastic Four and left the Refuge to visit the outside world [4] . He teamed up with the Creature , the Torchman and the Black Panther against the Psychoman [5] . He helped the royal family to stop another attempt by Maximus to seize power [6] .
He later helped the Gorgon in the release of Maximus [7] , later went to America to look for the missing Black Thunder [8] , then fought with Gorgon against Magneto and his mutants [9] .
Karnak later fought with Blaastar and the Kaptoids of Kriya, then went to New York, where he encountered the agent Kriya Shutterstar [10] . Karnak was imprisoned by Maximus [11] , then fought against Maximus and the evil Inhumans [12] . Karnak left Earth with the royal family to prevent the Inhumans from conquering the Kriya race, as they fought with various aliens [13] . He continued to fight the agents of Kriya, and then returned to Earth [14] . Karnak later participated in the Exodus of the Inhumans, when Attilan was moved to the dark side of the Moon [15] .
Karnak later, under the control of Maximus, fought the Avengers [16] . Then he fought the forces of the Higher Evolutionary during the Evolutionary War [17] . He accompanied Medusa to Earth when she fled from Attilan to avoid being obligatory for an abortion [18] .
Later, he and Gorgon were sent to Earth in an attempt to find the missing son of the Black Thunder with the help of Daredevil [19] . There, he and his companions fought against Ultron -13, which was defeated by the fact that Karnak discovered a weak spot in his neck. Later, they were drawn into the plot of Mephisto against Daredevil, and were taken to the underworld, where they were attacked by a supernatural entity known as Blackhart , but he was defeated [20] .
Karnak helps the New Warriors against the third Star Thief [21] . Along with the X-Factor, he fights against the Apocalypse [22] . He also helps the Avengers in battle with Thain Ector [23] . Karnak joins the Inhumans shock team to help defeat the sentry . [24]
During the Secret Invasion, Karnak encounters Skrull, disguised as Toros, whom he defeats [25] .
Strengths and abilities
Karnak has increased strength, endurance, stamina, agility and reflexes due to the genetically superior physiology of the Inhumans. Unlike most other Inhumans, he does not have superhuman powers, because he has never been exposed to Terrigen’s mutagenic mist . Instead, Karnak has an extrasensory ability (achieved through meditation and intense training) to see the points of tension and weak points of objects in other persons. It has full control over most of its vegetative functions of the body. All the covers of his body are extremely stiff. He is able to destroy substances up to mild steel and deprive the superhumans of consciousness by striking them.
Like all Inhumans, Karnak’s immune system is weaker than that of an ordinary person.
Karnak gained his fighting skills thanks to the royal military training of the Inhumans. He is also a graduate of a theological seminary at the Tower of Wisdom in Attilan.
