Biography

Born in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg ) in 1970.

In 1987, she arrived in Leningrad for admission to the Faculty of Philology of Leningrad University , where she studied languages ​​(English and Spanish) and literature. Already during her studies, in 1990, she emigrated to the USA ; continued her studies at Mills College , after which she became a specialist in the field of history and philosophy of science. She was a science consultant at Stanford University . [one]

In 1997, she became interested in photography and began to study photo printing techniques from the Italian printer Ivan Dalla Tana in Milan , and then with the French printer Marc Valesella . In his work, he combines early photographic processes (in particular, platinum photo printing ) with modern technologies [2] .

Photos of Lena Herzog have been published and discussed in various publications, in particular, in The New Yorker , The New York Times , Los Angeles Times , The Paris Review , Harper's Magazine , El País , El Mundo , The Believer , The British Journal of Photography , Cabinet and many others.
